Sister Clarice Steinfeldt received her Art degree from Alverno College in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
In January, 1994, she began cutting Valentines, and in Spring of that year,
she branched out into other designs. Her themes come from prayer, inspiration of seizing
the "moment," requests from customers, nature, and studying other papercutters work,
such as Walter Von Gunten's cylindrical vase which bears a stencil of one of his works.
|
In July, 1995, Sister Clarice began keeping a photocopy of all of her matted and or framed
work; as of May, 2006, she has cut nearly 1,500 original pieces.
