David, I responded to your request about the book format I was using with a written description. I have your mailing address and I plan to send you by post some items to illustrate. I completed my new book yesterday and printed several copies which included a number of small paper cuts used to illustrate the haiku poems. This morning I have been binding a copy using some decorative printed japanese hand made paper that I got from Aiko in Chicago. The book boards are 4.35"x2.85" wide, so you see that a single sheet folded down produces a small format. The nice thing about this approach is that you can layout the entire book on one side of the sheet and print only one side. I am susing Adobe Indesign for the type and layout which allows me to use color on the type and pictures. I print out on an Epson 620 ink jet printer which does a creditable job but not as crisp in the type area as a laser printer. The color factor however allows me a lot of control of the images. I'll put some things together for you in a day or two and include a proof of the new book in its flat form so you can see how it is developed. CVB

Thursday 10 November 2005 I completed a new book binding using some japanese hand made paper for the cover. The book was one I had completed using a single page with four folds and one cut to form an eight page book. I bound the book in a small case binding and attached the pages using an approach similar to a japanese accordian book style rather than sew into a signature, which is my typical approach.CVB

10 November 2005. I have completed my forst book using INdesing on my Imac computer. It is an eight page book with bpapercuts in color and accompanied by haiku poems also in color. I am in the process of binding a hard copy of that book. CVB
